Background on Plant

Chaunskaya-2 power station would replace the original Chaunskaya power station, which was commissioned in 1944 and is scheduled to be retired in 2019.[1] In the meantime the area's power supply will come from a floating nuclear power plant, the Akademik Lomonosov.[2]
