U.S. Marine Captain Christopher P. Niedziocha is a co-founder of Vets for Freedom (VFF).
According to his Vets for Freedom profile, Niedziocha is "currently an instructor at the Marines Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company in Norfolk, Virginia .... He served in Afghanistan in 2004 with First Battalion, Sixth Marines (1/6) where he was the recipient of a Silver Star for valor while leading a bold counterattack against enemy forces. Chris is a graduate of Penn State and is from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania."
"Niedziocha, originally from King of Prussia, Pa., received the award for his actions in Afghanistan as a first lieutenant, while serving as a platoon commander for Combined Anti-Armor Platoon, Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.
"Niedziocha’s convoy was ambushed near the village of Sandabuz, Afghanistan. Under heavy rocket and small arms fire, he aggressively guided the convoy through the ambush, and then led a small unit of Marines in a counterattack up steep terrain. The Marines dislodged the enemy fighters and neutralized remaining enemy forces with direct fire and close air support."
