"Crockett is 43 years old and self employed, co-owning and running a graphic and web design company that specialises on working with local companies and new businesses. Originally from a village near Tamworth, Staffordshire he moved to Gloucester in 2006 and then to Stroud after his stepson started at Wynstones School in 2008 and found all his classmates lived here. It while searching for the educational environment that would best support, nurture and inspire his stepson that he first read and researched Steiner based education and anthroposophy. As well as being a provisional trustee of Shire Training Workshops he is also a director of Transition Stroud, Stroud Pound cooperative, Cashes Green Community Land Trust and on the executive of Stroud Chamber of Trade and Commerce. Crockett now feels more at home in Stroud than his hometown and describes himself as a "born again Stroudie"."
