Background on Plant

The plant was announced in 2012, and was originally proposed to comprise two 600 MW units for a combined capacity of 1200 MW,[1] but as of January 2014 Dongbu Corporation lists the plant as 1,000 MW.[2]

In 2015 reports on the 7th Basic Power Plan stated that the project, described as a 2 x 1000 MW plant, was cancelled. It had been planned for completion in 2019-2020.[3]
