Public position on homosexuality

Opposes homosexual equality and marriage. He has used homosexual slurs against political opponents (called Bill McCollum "the new darling of homosexual extremists" because of his support for anti-hate crime legislation protecting homosexuals). [1]

Public position on abortion

Excerpt from letter:

"Every human life is precious. We must uphold our Constitution which ensures Americans the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but even before these -- the right to life. I strongly believe that the sanctity of life is a critical characteristic of a strong nation, and I am devoted to the pro-life cause in America. By protecting family values, I will work to foster a culture of life in America."
