Lincoln P. Bloomfield, Jr. "was Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs from 2001-2005. In 12 years of prior government service, Mr. Bloomfield served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs (1992-93), Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs (1991-92), and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs (1988-89), among other policy positions in the executive branch and the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress. Mr. Bloomfield founded Palmer Coates LLC in 2005 and serves as president, and he is also a Senior Advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. He graduated from Harvard College and received a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Mr. Bloomfield is a recipient of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service, the State Department’s Distinguished Honor Award and the State Department's Superior Honor Award. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Landmine Survivors' Network and is a Senior Advisor at CSIS. From 1993-2001, he was a partner in the international business group Armitage Associates L.C.
