Martin Newhouse is President and Acting General Counsel of the New England Legal Foundation, which engages in "vigorous advocacy of free market principles." Newhouse has been with NELF since 2004, at which time he held the role of general counsel. He also teaches legal ethics at Suffolk University Law School.
On March 1, 2010, he published an article in a minor Massachusettes newspaper called the Valley Advocate, titled "The First Amendment Wars: Calming Down about the Citizens United Decision." The article minimized the import of the Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United case.
