"The name Ouroboros is of Greek origin and is derived from the ancient symbol of a serpent or dragon devouring its own tail. Found in Asia, Egypt, Europe and the Americas, it symbolised wisdom and the continuity of cycles. It has also been thought to symbolise the rise and fall of great civilisations as they disappear and reappear throughout time." [1]

"The Ouroboros Research and Education Trust is a charitable organisation that funds and supports leading-edge research into the field known as Ancient Wisdom Studies. Combining scientific rigor with the openness necessary to explore the diverse number of related subjects, it seeks to bridge science and spirit, logic and intuition, and modern worldviews with ancient knowing." [1]
