In late 2010 after 15 years as Director of the Soil Association Patrick went "to pastures new, specifically spending a month in the USA in order to set up a Sustainable Food Trust." [1]

When asked in 2010 "Who is your eco hero?" he replied: "I have two. Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation, a man who didn’t let his public profile get in the way of his cause. Also, Prince Charles, the undisputed leader of the global movement for sustainable agriculture. Thank God for the Prince of Wales, that’s what I say. He’s an amazing man." [2]

"In Spring 2011 Patrick Holden CBE agreed to be Patron for the Biodynamic Association. He has a long association with biodynamics, having spent a year on the biodynamic course at Emerson College... He was formerly the Director of the Soil Association but since he left that post has started a new project - The Sustainable Food Trust." [3]
