Sines power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,250 MW. The plant was completed between 1985 and 1987, and is owned by Energias de Portugal. Coal is imported via covered conveyor from Sines Port.[1]

It is planned for retirement in 2023.
