US Tibet Committee
The U.S. Tibet Committee (USTC) was formed in 1977 and "is an independent organization formed by American and Tibetan volunteers to promote the restoration of Tibetan independence. We provide the public with information on the history, culture and plight of the Tibetan people. We sponsor lectures, conferences, demonstrations and other events to raise public awareness about conditions in Tibet. We keep U.S. politicians informed on the situation in Tibet, and press them to take a stand against the Chinese occupation."
