The Kestrel Mine West coal project is an undeveloped coal deposit in Queensland in which Rio Tinto Coal Australia has a 71.2% interest. Rio Tinto Coal Australia states that the project has 762 million tonnes of reserves of which 698 million tonnes are indicated and 64 million tonnes are inferred..
The project is located north north-west of Emerald.
