Vernon M. Neppe
"Vernon M. Neppe MD, PhD, FRS(SAf) is Director of the Pacific Neuropsychiatric Institute in Seattle; (Adjunct Full) Professor, Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, St. Louis University School of Medicine; and founder and former director of the first Division of Neuropsychiatry in the United States (at the University of Washington). Based on publications, presentations and consultations, Dr Neppe has contributed internationally in the specialties of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology (disciplines he pioneered), Psychopharmacology and Neuropharmacology, Forensic Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry, Consciousness Research, Anomalistic Psychology, Dimensional Biopsychophysics, Epileptology and Psychogeriatrics.
"Dr. Neppe was honored for his scientific contributions as the first USA-based physician to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa. He was also awarded the Marius Valkhoff Medal for exceptional contributions. He is also a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and has numerous honors including ongoing and the most current listings in America's Top Doctors (the only MD listed in five different specialties or subspecialties), Marquis Who's Who in the World and now a listing in The Leading Physicians in the World. . He was also one of about five whose medical biography was highlighted in Seattle Magazine under Seattle's Top Doctors. He led the first USA and International Delegation in Neuropsychiatry and Psychopharmacology. He has written more than three hundred and fifty publications, seven separate books, over sixty book chapters, published on all six habitable continents, and lectured in a dozen countries. He has presented at more than 90 percent of the medical schools or affiliates in the USA. He is an internationally sought-after public speaker.

He is also the world's leading authority on déjà vu including The Psychology of Déjà Vu, and a subsequent trilogy of books. He has written a medical forensic book for attorneys and another on psychopharmacology . He is also a playwright.
